What is Neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a form of therapy that involves monitoring and providing real-time feedback on brainwave activity to help individuals regulate their brain function. As it relies on electroencephalogram (EEG) measurements to observe patterns of brain waves, it is also referred to as EEG biofeedback.

During a neurofeedback session, scalp sensors track brainwave activity, which is then translated into visual or auditory feedback. Through this feedback, individuals are able to gain a greater understanding of their brain’s activity and learn how to regulate it more successfully.

Neurofeedback has been used as a non-invasive treatment approach for various neuropsychiatric conditions, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, migraines and headaches, and Tourette syndrome.

Neurofeedback results are based on QEEG topographic brain mapping. At Elite Innovative, we utilize six different databases to accurately target symptoms and are pioneers in the fields of research and training.

To obtain precise and comprehensive brain mapping, we use the following six databases to receive results:

  • New York University Medical School QEEG Normative Database (NX Link) Eyes Closed
  • Neuroguide QEEG Normative Database Eyes Closed Linked Ears and Laplacian
  • Neuroguide QEEG Normative Database Eyes Open Linked Ears and Laplacian
  • Neurorep QEEG Normative Database Eyes Open
  • Neurorep QEEG Normative Database Eyes Closed
  • Eureka LORETA RELATIVE POWER Normative Database Eyes Closed

Our US-based consultant and partner Robert Gurnee, MSW, LCSW, DCSW, possesses world-renowned expertise in the field of neurofeedback. Serving as past president of the International Society of Neurotherapy and Research and the EEG Division of the Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, he is on the International QEEG Certification Board that accredits physicians, psychologists, and counselors in brain mapping.
